The Milwaukee Bucks Acquire Jrue Holiday and Bogdan Bogdanović
Milwaukee isn't satisfied. When the Bucks were eliminated by Miami in the second round it was obvious that they'd be looking to upgrade their roster. At the time, it seemed like the Bucks had to improve the team on the margins, but the additions of Jrue Holiday and Bogdan Bogdanovic have shown that Milwaukee will be aggressive in going for a title.
The Bucks are desperate; three first-round picks, two pick swaps, George Hill, and Eric Bledsoe is what Milwaukee gave up to acquire Holliday. While it's a good thing to add top-end talent to your roster, this move strikes me as one made from a place of desperation.
Milwaukee is trying to do whatever it takes to convince Giannis Antetokounmpo that he should sign an extension with the team, and harming the team's long-term options for short-term upgrades is the type of move a team backed into a corner would make.
The clock is ticking for the other East contenders- With Milwaukee upgrading their roster, teams like Miami, Brooklyn, and Boston have been put on notice that the Bucks are ready to contend now. The draft is coming up and with the news that James Harden may be available, look for one of those teams to try to make a splash.
