Bucks Players Strike for Game 5, NBA Forced to Postpone Playoff Games
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
Just minutes before the Milwaukee Bucks were set to tip off Game 5 in their series against the Orlando Magic, it was reported the Bucks players were electing to stay in the locker room. Milwaukee went on to officially boycott the game.
This comes just a few days after police in Kenosha, WI shot Jacob Blake seven times in the back, a black man in the car with his small children. There have been days of violent protests in Wisconsin and beyond, including the murder of some of the protestors Tuesday night.
The Toronto Raptors and Boston Celtics, who are set to play Game 1 of their series tomorrow evening, had previously discussed boycotting their own match. Some players also openly weighed leaving the NBA Bubble to join protestors in Wisconsin or beyond.
This is an on-going story, with plenty of twists and turns to come. Stay tuned.
