Early Offense: Vol. 9 NBA Finals Edition

Finally. To swagger jack from former WWE star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, finally…..the Finals have COME BACK ….to Oracle. After the revelation of arguably the second-best player in the world joining forces with a team that won 73 regular season games the previous season, the 2016-2017 NBA season was off and running. We’ve seen historic individual accomplishments and witnessed the development of some of the Association’s up and coming talent. But in the end, all the accolades and milestones have been undercard fodder for this: Cavaliers vs. Warriors III. Does the reign of the Warriors start in earnest with a series victory over the Cavs? Does LeBron James cement his legacy by besting a team that added Kevin Durant in offseason with few outside of Cuyahoga County giving him a chance? Off the Glass is going all in with its Finals coverage and we will leave no stone unturned to get you ready for this epic match-up.

Tale of the Tape. The basketball world has had a year to choose a winner of this year’s NBA title, but most analysts and prognosticators still crunching numbers and reviewing film to come up with a champion. Our NBA Finals page is up and running with plenty of podcasts and previews to get you ready for the series. A sampling of the new heat: Dicky Fung previews the Cleveland Cavaliers. LeBron Watch 2017. Check out Jonathan Ebrahimi’s latest edition of LeBron Watch 2017 as he tracks King James’ historical journey through this postseason. It may take an epic series for James to overcome this iteration of the Warriors, so Jonathan may be busy over the next two weeks.

Now What? It’s not all Finals talk here at OTG. For the other 28 teams, it is back to the drawing board to figure out how to compete with the Cavaliers and Warriors. One such team is the Boston Celtics, who perhaps overachieved this season in their run to the Eastern Conference Finals. Now with cap room, assets and the number one overall pick in this year’s draft, the Celtics have some decisions to make. Russell Schmidt tells you what the Celtics should do with their embarrassment of riches. Also, our 2017 NBA Draft team needs preview series continues as Mike Guido takes a look at the Northwest Division.
