The San Antonio Spurs quieted the haters with a big win over the Los Angeles Clippers. The Spurs won game three easily, 100-77.

The Clippers got off to a slow start, and never responded. The Spurs had some superb play from Kawhi Leonard and the bench. This was the day after Kawhi was awarded Defensive player of the year, quite ironic that he goes off for 32 points. The Spurs bench also threw in 45 points, lead by Boris Diaw’s 15.

The Clippers struggled shooting all night like mentioned above. They shot 34 percent from the field and 26 percent from three. Big gun, Chris Paul was only able to managed seven points. Only two Clipper starters finished with more than seven points.

That type of performance is not going to get you a win against the Spurs.

Player of the Game: Kawhi Leonard scored 32 points on 13 of 18 shooting. He came up big when some of the other Spur starters had rough games.

Dud of the Game: Chris Paul needs to play big for the Clippers to beat the Spurs. Game three he did not, he scored seven points on three of 11 shooting, and only dished out four assist. The Clippers need more from their leader.

Stat of the Game: The Spurs shot 52.6 percent from the field and the Clippers shot 34% from the field, yeah, that’s why they lost.

There was a lot of negative talk about the Spurs after game one, it seems they have responded. The Clippers are the ones that need to respond now. Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin all need to bring it in game four.

Game four will be Sunday at 3:30pm on ABC
