The Potential of Nerlens Noel and Ish Smith

Philadelphia 76ers big man, Nerlens Noel is having a great rookie season. He is arguably becoming the franchise player of the 76ers and with some of the games he's had you can see why. Noel has been on a tear since the All Star break, as he is averaging: 12.9 points and 9.5 rebounds per game since. His spectacular play continued in the month of March.
According to an article on Philly.com, from March 4 through 11, Noel had a stretch in which he had 10-plus rebounds and four-plus steals over a four-game span. The only other person to do that was all-time great Hakeem Olajuwon in 1988.
On March 27, he scored 30 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, got two steals, and shot 12 for 17 against the Los Angeles Clippers, who have a great interior defender in DeAndre Jordan.
Noel's recent play is only an indication of how much he has improved and how much he will continue to. His potential is soaring as he is continuing to get better.
Another player who has potential, but is not mentioned quite often is Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ish Smith. Ish Smith is a solid player, who has some solid games, but he's had some great games recently as the general of the Philadelphia 76ers.
On the same night that Nerlens dropped 30 and 14, Smith scored 18 points and had 9 assists. Two nights later against the Cavs, he dropped 7 assists, while scoring 11 points. He's also had some great scoring games dropping 17 points against the Los Angeles Lakers on March 30 and 23 points against the Washington Wizards on April 1.
Ish Smith is a solid player with potential to get better. Now his numbers are very average at best, but if he continues his solid play and with Noel playing at his level, the 76ers will be in great shape with him.
Nerlens Noel and Ish Smith are two of the 76ers most promising players, who will continue to get better, especially when Joel Embiid joins the team. The more solid players the 76ers acquire, the better point guard Smith will be and less attention will be focused on Noel. Noel and Smith are two young players who have a bright future in Philadelphia.
