O.T.T.T: Cleveland is the League's Worst Franchise

Sports Illustrated It must suck to be a Cleveland sports fan. I have little to no knowledge of the NFL and even I know the Cleveland Browns are trash. They’re about as relevant to football as the A-League is to world soccer. Cleveland’s basketball team isn’t faring much better. The LeBron James era is done and dusted. The memories of his tenure are unforgettable though his departure has left the franchise in tatters. It was a near miracle that James was able to rag the relati

Kevin Love Undergoes Successful Foot Surgery

Sport Techie Cleveland Cavaliers reported that forward Kevin Love underwent a successful surgery Friday to alleviate persistent left foot pain. Surgery was performed by Dr. Martin O’Malley at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. The team will re-evaluate Love at six weeks to determine if he will be ready to return. The surgery that was performed was not specified, but Love had been dealing with a left big toe injury since the preseason. It had initially seemed a

3 Takeaways from Game 5 of the ECF

These Finals matchups have been a let down to say the least and Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals was more of the same. Boston took the win over a lethargic Cleveland, 96-83, with a chance to seal the series in Game 6 at Quicken Loans Arena on Friday night. They’ll need to reverse their form away from home if that’s going to be the case, in saying that… Home Court Advantage Matters The Celtics are perfect at home this postseason (10-0) while their away record pales in c

5 Things the Raptors Must Do to Dethrone the King

Push LeBron James to Brink of Exhaustion “I’m burnt right now… I’m ready to go home”. These were the words that James used to describe how he felt after a long, hard-fought series against the Indiana Pacers. Never before has James had to carry such an immense load, and it has clearly taken its toll on him both physically and mentally. If the Raptors have any hope of advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals, they have to force James to the absolute brink of exhaustion. Force

Is LeBron Running Out of Time?

LeBron James is basketball’s greatest athlete ever. He is a physical anomaly in every sense of the word. As Kevin Durant mentioned to Bill Simmons on his podcast, LeBron takes care of his body “religiously.” Despite being one of the most successful athletes off the court, The King makes his keep on it. He’s historically great in so many facets but the one which has stuck out is his consistency over an extended period of time. Right now he is second in the league for total min

Smelling the Roses: How Derrick Rose Impacts the Cavs

The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed point guard Derrick Rose to a one-year, $2.1 million contract. The former MVP is coming off a year in New York, where he averaged 18 points a game, and 4.5 assists per game. He also shot his best shooting percentage from the field (47%) since his 2009-2010 season, via ESPN. How can Rose help the Cavs? Is he the missing piece that will help them get over the hump and beat the Warriors? Let’s take a look at how Rose will fit into Cleveland’s

Where Might Kyrie Irving End Up?

The NBA was shaken to its core Friday night when word got out that Kyrie Irving wants a trade out of Cleveland. The Cavaliers have been to the past three NBA Finals and took home the championship just last year after Irving hit a game-winning 3-point shot over Steph Curry in Game 7 with under a minute left. What gives? It's head-scratching for a player on a three time defending conference championship team to want a trade. Irving's numbers have only improved since LeBron Jam

    WHAT NOW?

The Cavaliers will need to address a number of roster needs to keep pace with the Warriors. In the summer of 2014, fresh off a lopsided defeat to the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals, Miami Heat President Pat Riley addressed the media on the eve of the NBA’s impending free agency period. To complicate matters, there were rumblings that the franchise’s marquee player, LeBron James was looking to return home to Cleveland. Riley, ever confident and immensely prideful, present

LeBron Watch 2017 - Final Issue

Last night, the Golden State Warriors put an end to both LeBron’s and the Cleveland Cavaliers’ championship defense after beating them 129-120 in Game 5 of the NBA Finals. For the fifth time in his illustrious career, LeBron James’ season ended in defeat after a gruelling trip to the final round of the playoffs. LeBron put forth a valiant effort to keep his team’s championship hopes alive, but the overwhelming fire power of the Golden State Warriors was too much for him to ov

It took a historic, record-setting effort but finally, LeBron James and the Cavaliers put together a winning 48 minutes in the NBA Finals. Between LeBron’s historic night and the Cavaliers all-time scoring performance, the Cavaliers were able to use a 137 point effort to hand the Warriors their first loss of the 2017 postseason. With the series heading back to Oakland for Game 5, we are in the exact same place we were a year ago with the series at 3-1 in favor of Golden Stat

If the Cavaliers were going to win a game, it was Game 3. However, with the Golden State Warriors edging the Cavaliers 118-113 in last night’s contest, the NBA Finals look all but over. In 45 minutes last night, LeBron James put forth yet another staggering stat line of 39 PTS, 11 REB, and 9 AST. Although a near 40-point triple-double is hard to beat in terms of impressiveness, it was a different kind of stat that stood out as most shocking – LeBron’s net rating. In 45 and a

If you were just to read the Cavaliers side of the box score, you might have thought they won on Sunday night. After all, a LeBron James 29 point triple-double, 27 points from Kevin Love, 19 point and 7 assists from Irving, 15 team steals and only 9 turnovers, usually spell success for Cleveland. Unfortunately, the Warriors were just so explosive on offense that none of it mattered. Golden State scored 132 points on 52% shooting, with both Kevin Durant and Steph Curry scoring

NBA Finals: Cavaliers Must Go Back to the Drawing Board

Domination. Easy. How about unfair? The 2017 NBA Finals didn’t exactly satisfy craves as it featured two lopsided victories when the Golden State Warriors took a 2-0 lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers. It was almost as if the Cleveland Cavaliers were playing the Western All-Star team in the NBA Finals. This certainly wasn’t expected, and the Warriors are making the Cavs look bad because they have just been superior in all aspects thus far. What must LeBron James and his boys d

Game 1 of the NBA Finals didn’t go as planned for LeBron James as the Cleveland Cavaliers fell to the Golden State Warriors 113-91 in disappointing fashion. What started as a tightly knit, back-and-fourth contest quickly became an offensive showcase for the Warriors' dynamic duo, Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry, who finished with 38 and 28 points respectively. Both LeBron and Kyrie Irving had decent games, but neither played well enough to overcome the poor play of their surro

One superstar is heading toward the twilight of one of the greatest NBA careers of all-time, highlighted by 3 NBA championships and 4 regular season MVP awards. The other is a dominant and perennial scoring machine, who has been criticized for his failures in the NBA playoffs – after 9 full seasons his hands remain jewellery-free. NBA Finals Preview: Cleveland Cavaliers Coverage

It’s happening. The most inevitable NBA Finals match-up is set. The Cleveland Cavaliers will travel to Oakland on Thursday to take on the Golden State Warriors in another NBA Finals rematch, the 3rd between both teams. The Cavs took care of business in the Eastern Conference Finals finishing off the Boston Celtics 4-1 to punch their 3rd straight NBA Finals appearance. For LeBron James, it’s his 7th straight. SEVENTH. Let that sink in for a moment. For more on LeBron, be sure

Anyone who tuned into last night's Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals, bore witness (pun intended) to a small piece of history. With a late third quarter triple, LeBron James passed Michael Jordan to become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer in the post-season. LeBron did so using 120 less field goal attempts, although it did take him an additional 33 games. Another note-worthy point is that during Jordan’s career, the first round of the playoffs was decided by a 5-game s

LeBron James finished Tuesday night’s performance with 34 PTS on 56% shooting, adding 5 REB and 6 AST. A cold jump shot, combined with some early foul trouble (4 personal fouls in the first half) kept LeBron on the bench for much of the first half as he went into halftime with just 10 PTS on 5-of-9 shooting. However, with all of the pressure from his poor performance in Game 3 and the added pressure from having four early fouls, LeBron came out after halftime and was sensati

On Sunday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers had the opportunity to increase their series lead over the Boston Celtics to 3-0, on their home court nonetheless. That did not happen. Instead, the Celtics put together one of the gutsiest playoff performances of all time coming back from a 21-point lead on the road, two nights after being blow out by more than 40 points on their own home court. As if that wasn’t impressive enough, the C’s managed to pull off the upset without their b
